BBNaija Returns for 10th Season with ₦150M Grand Prize

The Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) stage is set, the house is ready, and the countdown has officially begun. One of Africa’s most beloved reality TV phenomena, is set to make a triumphant return for its 10th season on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This milestone edition promises not only fresh entertainment but also a record-setting prize of ₦150 million, the largest in the show’s history.

The announcement was made earlier this week during a press parley hosted by MultiChoice Nigeria, the media powerhouse behind BBNaija. Speaking at the event, Dr. Busola Tejumola, the Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, highlighted the significance of this landmark season, referring to it as more than just a return—it’s a celebration of a cultural movement that has deeply impacted Nigeria, Africa, and the global diaspora.

“Today, we are not just announcing another season, we are celebrating a legacy,” said Tejumola. “Big Brother Naija has become more than just a television show; it is a living, breathing cultural force. It has given voice to a new generation of talent, creatives, entertainers, and influencers. It has redefined what homegrown entertainment can achieve when done at scale, with intention and ambition.”

Launched in 2006, BBNaija began as an experimental adaptation of the international Big Brother franchise. After its debut season, the show went on a long hiatus and did not return until 2017 with the electrifying ‘See Gobe’ edition. Since its revival, BBNaija has held strong each year, delivering one blockbuster season after another, each with a unique theme—Double Wahala, Pepper Dem, Lockdown, Shine Ya Eye, Level Up, All Stars, and most recently, All Eyes On Me.

A Legacy That Transcends TV

What started as a televised social experiment has grown into a pop culture phenomenon, generating careers, headlines, and moments that have shaped conversations in Nigeria and beyond. Dr. Tejumola reflected on the evolution of the show from its humble beginnings:

“From the very first time we introduced Big Brother Naija in 2017 [after the hiatus], we had an inkling that we had something special. What we couldn’t fully imagine was how deeply the show would resonate not only in Nigeria but across Africa and the global Diaspora, where our stories continue to connect people to home.”

BBNaija has become a massive platform for discovering and elevating talents. From Nollywood stars to business entrepreneurs, music artists, and fashion influencers, many of today’s most recognized names in the Nigerian entertainment industry trace their rise to the visibility gained in Biggie’s house.

Ebuka Returns as Host

Also returning for this special season is Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, one of the most recognizable faces of the BBNaija brand. Ebuka, who himself was a housemate in the first edition, has become synonymous with the show’s success and presentation flair. He is expected to once again guide viewers through every twist, task, eviction, and drama-filled moment with his signature style and charisma.

“Ebuka is not just a host, he is part of the DNA of BBNaija,” said Tejumola. “He understands the show, its legacy, and its pulse. His return this season was never in question.”

Double Launch Nights and Viewer Access

In a fresh twist for Season 10, the show will open with two consecutive live launch nights, an approach MultiChoice says is meant to amplify anticipation and build on the show’s momentum. The two-night premiere event will allow for a more immersive introduction of the new housemates and set the tone for what promises to be a thrilling season.

Fans can rest easy knowing that the voting process remains unchanged and entirely free via the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps, as well as the Africa Magic website. This ensures that fan engagement and support for favorite housemates continues to be as accessible and democratic as ever.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

As BBNaija marks its 10th season, it’s more than just a television milestone—it’s a testament to the power of storytelling, relatability, and shared experiences. Over the years, the show has not only entertained millions but has sparked important conversations on youth, identity, creativity, relationships, mental health, and resilience.

With an eye-watering ₦150 million at stake, the new season is set to raise the bar higher than ever before. And if history is any guide, viewers are in for another rollercoaster of alliances, betrayals, love stories, unexpected twists, and unforgettable moments.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a casual viewer, one thing is certain: BBNaija Season 10 is about to take over your screens, your timelines, and your conversations. Let the countdown begin.
